With winter right around the corner I was just curious on what folks have as a winter wardrobe. Clothing, gloves, helmets, neck warmer, e.t.c. Bad experience with certain brands, and any other suggestions for winter riding as Im gonna be riding to work unless there is snow on the ground.
With the below I am comfy for a long ride on the highway in the coldest of temperatures. If I knew how good heated gear was in the cold I would have got it a long time ago.
Gerbings Extreme Element jacket & pants. Gerbings gloves and insoles. Danner Ft. Lewis insulated boots. Shark Evoline II helmet. Cheap microfiber neck gaiter. I've ridden in 16 degree weather with no discomfort.
I found that winter motorcycle gear tends to overpriced. I look at snowmobile gear instead. There's plenty of it, comes in colors that are great for visability for those short winter days, and its WARM. The only thing I would consider buying that's motorcycle specific is Gerbing heated gloves.

Except it is made for snowmobiling not motorcycling so does not include abrasion protection (it uses polyester which will melt into your skin in a slide and is horribly painful when it does) and does not have armor
Gerbings liner
Gerbings gloves
Leather chaps
Long underwear
I'm going to order the Gerbings jacket since it is easier to use than the liner. With the liner I have to connect the cords to the gloves inside my leather; with the Gerbings jacket the cords connect on the outside really quick and don't get bunched up under your jacket at your wrist.
Over the head liner ( looks like a ski mask but thinner)
Wore a full face helmet on my Dyna but bought the SG in Feb and never needed it on this bike with the mask on.
Some Over pants I got off clearance (dont use much since got the heated liners)
Adding Gerbing shoe inserts and gloves this year.
This is what I have and run different combos depending on how cold. Rode 325 miles in temps from 29 to 34 back in march and the only thing that got cold was my feet.
I ride in Utah winters with HD heated gloves (which I think are re-branded Gerbings), and WarmGear heated socks, plugged into a dual control thermostat (those gloves get HOT without one). Other than that, thermal underwear, chaps, and a hoodie under my leather jacket and I'm good to go. I've got a neoprene face mask, but almost never wear it because it feels claustrophobic.
