Default 2010 oil cooler question

Hey,
Have a 2010 FLHR and will be getting an oil cooler. Looking at the HD book, there is one for the 2010 and one for the 2011 models. The 2011 looks like a larger cooling area (probably for the 103's).

I assume the 2011 will fit the 2010 - and the larger area will lower the oil temps more. Does anyone know if the 2011 cooler will not work on the 2010 models?

Thanks

Dont know if it's any larger by looking at the pics.

There must be a difference because of the part numbers.

For what it's worth, I have the same bike as you and I put on the 26155-09 because that's the one that was made for the bike. I have been riding on hot days and in heavy traffic. No problems, so it seems to be adequate. That being said, I'd be a little nervous about taking a part made for a different bike and trying to make it work on mine.

If you try the other one, please do report back and let us know if it works.

Mike

The 2011 fits and works perfectly on the 2010. The element (radiator) is the same size. The mounting is cleaner (no extra brackets) and the cover is much nicer (more integrated looking) I'm going to have the cover powdercoated black. I'd recommend going with the 2011 kit.

Is that 16 degrees difference with the fan running?

no , I saw the temp drop with the cooler it's self , the Jagg 10 row low mount is a much more efficient cooler than the HD unit with out the fan , 1- it is 30% larger 10 row , compared to a 7 row 2- the inside design cools better 3- the Jagg oil filter adapter is higher flowing and has less pressure drop at start up than the HD unit , & 4- HD coolers are tilted at a 15* angle , I feel that allows some airflow to pass over them with out going through the cooler , the Jagg is straighter up and down , I bought the fan unit which is the same as the normal unit with out the fan and it cools so effectively the fan rarely kicks on , call Jagg and talk to Marv Bealls , find out what you need and then shop it , most vendors offer 15% and more discount off of list
