If you were riding up the hill near Mount Rushmore and noticed a 2001 SERG broke down, that was me. I few nice riders stopped to help. It turned out to be my main breaker so once it cooled down I was able to ride it to the local dealer in Rapid City and bought a new one and installed it that night.
All was well after that. All in all it was a nice trip and saw allot of country I never saw before. We rode every day and had great weather.
From VA it took us three days one way (yes I trailered it).
At least I had a full complement of tools with me and having a length of 10 gauge wire also came in handy as I used it to jump the breaker but at that point it had reset as I could get power through it. My wife was a great help too and never complained and it was hot out.
We trailered ours to Colorado the week before and had a great time.
Screw em. Long f- ing way from Texas.
My wife and I ride from Texas to Sturgis each year. Yep, it's a long way, but you eventually get used to it! Yesterday we did 900 miles from Sturgis to Perry OK, and then made our way to Dallas today. Yep, my saddle is sore!
