I was slowing to a stop when I put my foot down I sliped on some loose graval. Bike fell to the right I carefully dropped her. Have some minor scratches on the faring and the right side bag rails. Any suggestions on how to fix? What about my ego?
I had my bike painted over the winter. The first day I took it out I put a deep scratch in one of my saddlebags. I had to get that bag redone. I was sick about it. Makes me cautious now. My ego was crushed. Just gotta move forward
Yup, ego is the hardest to repair! But that too adds to your character. I've only dropped once many years ago when I was first starting out (new Fat Boy)--but it was a beaut. If this makes you feel better, it was in the gravel parking lot of a popular ice cream hang out with dozens of hot chicks milling around. Cranked the bars too quickly trying to park....aaaaand survey says? Show me new gas tank!
As someone pointed out after I posted about dropping my bike in my garage with a piece of wood ending up weirdly under the left front rotor......survey says.....drop the bike down on the other side for balance!. And if you're worried about stuff, take it to your dealer and have them look it over and ride it around. That's what I did and do. Helps put the ego and worrisome mind to rest. I don't fret about scratches anymore. It's a bike.
Welcome to the club. Dropped my new Ltd. with the wife on the back, she handled it really well as I was freakin out. But ya, they're right, it ads character not only to the bike (slight scratch on the rear left guard) but also to oneself. How would we ever learn, if it wasn't for mistakes?
Ya I dropped this bike in a parking lot the first month I had it. Luckily no visible damage. Hurts your ego more than anything.
Coming back from the smoky mountains the other day I rolled up to a stop light. I didn't notice a small stick when I put my foot down and my foot rolled over it. Some how I managed to catch myself but I sure thought it was going down. Would of sucked to come off the dragon 4 times to drop the bike at red light lol
