So along with the normal sewing machine ticking which I deem normal for the TC 96 from what I've heard and experienced, I also have this odd tick that varies in frequency and doesn't really seem to be related to RPM, that I hear all the time, cold or warm and at all RPM's. The only way I can describe it is a constant, but varying in resonance sound. Again, it doesn't really seem to be tied to RPM. Kind of always there but comes and goes in frequency. Any ideas? I don't think its a major issue, as the bike runs fine and I can hear the very distinct and constant but smooth and RPM dependant sewing machine clatter of the lifters. Almost sure it sound like it's coming from the top end.

Anybody else have this issue? Ideas where to look? What does a fuel injection solenoid opening and closing sound like? Somebody said it is probably that? Is the solenoid that loud?
I'd suggest getting with a friend who has the same engine, or going to the local hang out or dealership and ask around, you don't have to have the dealer check it, 9 out of 10 times you can ask one of the techs or another customer to listen to your bike, or start their bike to see if it is an unusual or normal sound. It's kind of hard to imagine the sound on this forum.
Gosh no idea on that one. But noises are so hard to describe it's difficult to say. So it's not related to RPM's? Is this sound always the same beat or pace regardless of RPM's?

Seems to increase very little with RPM. It does increase with RPM but not as in the same way as lifters do? I'm Puzzeled. I'm wondering about three possibilities. 1.) Injector solenoid, 2 primary chain adjustment, and lastly push rod tube rub?

Get you a stethoscope at AutoZone. I had a medical one and just attached a closed end steel pipe from a 14" piece of brake tube. Like night and day difference in locating noise. Bet you will be amazed. Mine really does sound rough in primary but with it plugged to your ears isolating all the exhaust and intake noise amazingly sound like a sewing machine.
