Have a '11 RGC. Have been getting a handle bar/head shake when the bike is slowing down. Get the bike up to 80km/h or so, say 50mph, off the throttle and let the bike coast. As she slows down with a real light grip on the bars and they shake like crazy! Tire pressures are good, head bearings good...bike is brand new. Dealer tells me this is a 'commom' remark and that there is no fix at this time. Claims Harley knows about it but cannot offer a solution at this time. I came off a '09 UC that I could take my hands of the bars at 140 kph with the cruise on and she was rock steady. WTH! Anyone else experience this or am I the only one. If so any solutions out there. Thanks.
I don't think you have to get up to 50 to see problem. on my 2011 RG Ultra get it to 20-30 mph, coast with light grip and shake like crazy. less than 500 miles on bike. My 2007 RK doesn't have this problem.
Same issue with my 09. Been through the wheel ballance and head bearing adjustment with no change. The only thing I haven't done is going to the American Elite tire. I wonder if that's the solution? Anybody have any experience with the new tire and it's effect on the head shake? Have a couple of buds with new Road Kings who also have the problem.
Thanks for the replys. That was the dealers response over the phone. Going to take it in and let them ck it out. Its not right and there is no way that it can be acceptable the way it is. Will keep you posted.
