Don't mess with the voodoo!!! I bought a friend a bell and it has worked for him. Another friend went to the Tail of the Dragon with me. He did not have a bell, and, yup, he had a minor accident - went down (slide) on the side of the road. Tore his britches and bent his crash guard (slightly). Mostly hurt his pride (but then he rides a VTX). Disclaimer: I have a gremlin bell and I'm keeping it.

I dunno. Mrs Grind got a new bike and I put the gremlin bell from her old bike on the new one, and for the first month, her bike had electrical problems. Yanked the old GB off and put a new one on when we picked it up from getting fixed (warranty) and hasn't had a problem since.

And thanks for not calling it a "guardian bell", or whatever pc name the marketers have come up with.

Yeah. I was thinking he owed his mechanic more thanks than the Gremlin Bell. Some people refuse to admit that there are good mechanics at dealerships.

Wow, I'm surprised you haven't had more flames on this post - I asked the same question about 6 months ago and got a lot of ridicule and put downs (about 4 pages worth).

Anyway, on to the question, I got a good idea from one memeber - present the ride bell as a gift to the new owner of your old bike and ask someone to get you a new one. I also told hubby I was torn as to transferring it to the new bike or letting it go with the old one (he gave the bell to me) and he said to leave it on the Suzi and then he got me one for the SG.
