I have an 09 FLHX and I started with the sissybar and rack. I bought the king tourpak and sold the other stuff.

The tourpak turns the back seat to a couch for my ol lady. She loves it, and reads occasionally. I wOuldnt take on a big trip with out it.

Two recommendations though:
Have the dealership Put it together with the rack. They drill; if they scratch they buy.
Keep your sissybar. It's nice for the 1/2 hour rides with the ol lady. I need to buy another one...

They are great. NO regrets.

When I bought my Ultra I was looking at the Street Glide too. I bought the Ultra b/c I am tall enough to not need it lowered, was going to buy lower fairings anyway, and b/c of wifey I wanted the extra space and comfort for her.

I had every intention to buy the quick disconnect for the tour pack. Almost bought it the same day I bought the bike. It was pretty expensive though and I decided to wait. I have gotten sooooo spoiled with the tour pack. I don't give a chit how much cooler it would look without. I use it for everything. I am able to do most of my errands on the bike, so much easier to use than side bags. I can even get Dominos large pizzas in there!

My bike was the last '10 SG the dealer had, they installed the chopped pack and lowered the price to sell it. i can say that i have yet to remove it (except for washing). it comes handy for all trips, granted, it's not as roomy as the king tour pack but it holds everything my wife and i need on trips, gym, regular clothes, my uniforms and lunch.

I'm also a RiderCoach and it holds all my gear as well. the best thing i use by far and you wont regret having it.

I think i want lowers next, there's a swap meet here every month and i let the perfect set for my bike go, no painting needed and 400 for the whole thing, oh well; 2 more weeks for the next swap meet.

Default SG with Tourpack

I have a 2010 with a removable tourpack, had the dealer install as part of my original purchase. I tend to leave the tourpack on much more than I ever expected. I like the looks of the SG without the tourpack better than with the tourpack, but I like the ability to store stuff in my tourpack. I try to ride to work once a week (about a 30 mile trip one way), so I have room for my laptop and lunch box. I then put my helmet and jacket in the tourpack and lock them up for the day.

If I want to go to bike nite, or have a cleaner look for a couple days, I just pull the tourpack.

I also do a couple trips a year, so it's almost a necessity of a trip.

To me a removable tourpack is a must have option for a SG.

Here's my thoughts since you asked. The tour pak is a lot handier to use than the saddle bags.

Now for what you want.
If your wife rides: get the King Tour Pak
If you mostly ride solo: get the Chopped Pak to keep the sporty looks of the Street Glide.

Either one on a Street Glide will still look sportier than an Ultra (sorry Ultra owners, but it's the truth).
I do like the Limiteds though.

Can someone post up a pic of the Detachable rack for the chopped tourpak? I have the Detachable setup on my StreetGlide for a removable Airwing luggage rack and the Passenger backrest. What I want to know is does the tourpak rack come OFF with the tourpak when removed? Mine is a 2010 StreetGlide. thanks!

the tour pack gets bolted to the removable rack. so yes the rack and pak come off and go on as one unit
