Default Street Glide Tour Pak

Ok now I was just wondering what you guys think about adding a tour pak to a street glide. I bout the bike for it's stripped down look but now that I have it I am wonderiing why I didn't just get an ultra or something with all the bells and whistles and then take off what I didn't need that day. so anyone who has added a tour pak can you let me know how much more convenient it is

I added one with an airwing luggage rack for my trip to Sturgis.. Man, lemme tell you.. The trip would have been VERY difficult without it.

This is the chopped pack in these pics.. I am going to buy the King Tourpak for the two-up rack I am using now and buy a solo rack for this chopped tourpak..

I think the bike looks just fine.

I even added lowers...

Anybody thinks my bike don't look cool.. I say F*** 'em, they wouldn't know a sweet bike if it bit 'em in the ****.

With...

Without...

I enjoy the flexibility the detachable setup has to offer. Like sublime said earlier, long trips are much more pleasant with it. BTW, my tourpak is the standard HD, chopped version.

First, taking the tourpak of an Ultra does not a StreetGlide make.

Second, as much as I like the look without the tourpak, I like having the space, like having the rear speakers, like having a good backrest for the wife, and like not having to have a second (low profile) seat for when the tourpaks not on the bike.

I just wish that someone made one that was halfway in depth between the chopped and king sizes, that had provisions for speaker pods. The king looks a little bulky, but the chopped looks too short every time I see one in person, and speaker pods (the few Ive seen for it) don't look all that hot for the chopped.

you know what's funny is I just saw your post and that is what made me ask the question. I think your bike looks great and I am thinking about doin a tour pak. I guess my question is do u really think the tour pak is a good investment assuming you do some long trips

I have a detachable king tour pak on my 2010 FLHX, I have it on about half the time the trip to Sturgis would have been pretty bad without it. Ride my bike to work everyday so it comes in handy for lunch box. You can take it off in 5 minutes.

Definitely worth every penny I spent....

I doubt I will take it off even though I have the detachable mount. It looks good and gives me a lot of easily accessible storage. I prefer it to the saddle bags.

I wanted a little extra room for trips so I added the Razor Pac in the solo postion. Its not for everyone but is just the extra space I wanted and think it keeps the SG look.

It is very handy and I think I will be added to the list of people that bought a pac and never took it back off.
