[QUOTE=hdelectra;8714671]With the Jackpots or Fullsac, they use the stock heat shields so no one knows any different.

I'm not too terribly impressed with a lot of the HD techs but if they can't tell the difference they must be blind. Take the bike in for warranty and I bet any of them will spot it.

I took it as it wouldn't be blatantly obvious when you first pulled in.

However, I'm curious as to how you could tell by just looking at the bike? What would be so obvious that they must be blind? Do you personally have the Jackpot headers?

Dude, I ordered the ceramic coated, 555' cams, and SE AIR from fuel moto and right away they told me how long it would take. They said three months for the ceramics, this was this past March. They were short on time and emailed me, the parts came in early. I live outside of the country. They told me they have them, asked if I wanted them. I did, and in three days they were at my house in Boston. Tell your HD dealer to beat it and go direct to Fule Moto. They ARE TOPS FOR CUSTOMER SERVICE, However; Listen, everyoine on this site blows them like Madden to Farve, and my experiece with them has been great, but if you are going to make mods to your bike, do not do it with out looking at Thunder-max. Yes it is expensive, but you get wht you pay for. Take a look at how many guys use PCIII and PC VI from fuEL-moto, AND HOW MANY ???? THER IS ABOUT THE PRODUCT. It cant be good only becuase the others say so> Dude if you want a GREAT RUNNING BIKE check out THUNDERMAX!!!!!!. You will be glad you did.

I have the Jackpot HTC 2-1-2 Head Pipe, 4" Jackpot Dyno Tuned Slash Up Mufflers, Power Vision Tuner, a Fuelmoto tune, and an HD Stage 1 A/C. My bike runs much cooler than stock, performs far better than stock, and sounds great. Also, Fuelmoto's customer service has been great. Just pick up the phone and call Jamie to find out what's going on. Posting here, while not inappropriate, doesn't get you the information you want in the timeframe you want most of the time in this kind of situation.

Honestly though, in regards to the warranty issue, the stock heat shields aren't going to hide the fact that the exhaust isn't stock. A quick look behind the cat's heatshield will tell any service writer or mechanic that the cat is gone and in it's place sits an x-pipe. If people are worried about warranties then don't mod the bike. I've been modding modern performance cars for years and you just have to man up and face the fact that once you mod it the responsibility may be yours to fix a failure if the dealer chooses to make an issue of the modification. Sure there is a law stating they must prove the mod caused the issue but the bottom line is that if they see the mod and inform you they will not cover it you better have deep pockets for a lawyer and a burning desire to fight the warranty refusal in court.

FYI, I just got back from a 5800 mile trip from MD to Colorado, Wyoming, Sturgis, SD, and back to MD. Made it from MD to Denver in two days at around ~850 miles each day. During those 2 days, I ran the bike 85mph most of time and it ran great. Ran it hard at high altitude in Colorado, it ran great. Ran it hard on all the ride circuits around Sturgis and it ran great. Ran it hard all the way home and it ran great.

From 10' away it might not be obvious but any tech is going to spot them up close.

I don't personally use them but I've installed 3 sets.

Thanks for the heads up. I called Fuel Moto and according to the gal I talked to today, the pipes were shipping from California today. I hope so. When I called and talked to them 2 weeks ago they told me then that they were shipping that week.

I understand stuff happening, backorders and the like, but between myself and the dealer, we've been given 4 false ship dates. It's getting old. I know there's other pipes available and if I wanted them, I would have bought them. Personally, I'm not crazy about the looks of the V&H X-pipe. I like the looks of the stock pipes / heat shields.

So anyways, I posted to see if anyone else was having a similar experience. I've read many good things about FuelMoto, Jamie, their customer service and the like , hence wHY I wanted the Jackpot headers.

hdelectra, I would have your dealer contact us and we can give them a specific status. We are straight forward with our dates and updates especially when it is a backorder or pre-order and estimated and projected dates can and do change during normal stages of production. When we have ceramic coatings done this can especially change production greatly during peak season it may take 3-5 weeks to get them back from the coater however the company we use is the best of the best and we are not willing to compromise on our products, especially one we offer a lifetime warranty on. We just finished up a large production run of ceramic headpipes on Friday afternoon and have already started allocating, invoicing and shipping orders and will be continued to be shipped on Monday.
