Had the same symptoms on mine and did not find out what it was until my rear brakes went out. Yep Rear brakes.. Turned out the rear brake light switch is two piece and was leaking where it was put together. Dealer said they had changed out a few of them because of this failure.
Hell, you looked at alot of other stuff, what could it hurt to check your brake fluid level and look at your brake light switch? I was 600 miles from home when all my fluid leaked out.

I'm glad I found this on the forum...just performed my 1000 mile service on the 2012 FLHX. I also installed the Arlen Ness Big Sucker (same as S/E Air Cleaner) and I modified my stock air cleaner cover. Took the bike to work today and smelled that all too familiar burnt oil/blow-by smell coming from my air cleaner while driving under load. On my 06 heritage, I purchased a cross over tube and vented the crankcase blow-by straight to the ground vice the intake. I may have to do the same for this bike...the smell is nausiating...to me anyway!
