Default 2011 Road Glide Shake in front end

I had the same issue when I first got my bike but I also noticed that when I decelerated I felt a front end clunk like a Fall-away issue. So they adjusted my neck and I have not felt it any more.
Good Luck, Hope you get it figured out!

Hope this is of help to all Road Glide owners from '09 forward!!
....it says '09 Road Glides so the dealer will tell me it doesn't apply to mine....which is an '11 and does it not only at decel but when the cruise is set on 40!

Ours is a 2011 as well - started at just over 400 klms. It applies to 09 & newer Road Glides.
Our Dealership told us that as well - once they checked.

Our problem was that we were told that they had made the adjustment. So we didn't question it again. They didn't adjust it to the specs in the bulletin! Just assumed it was like all the others from years past. No-one ---not even the other mechanics questioned the head mechanic on the Fall Away adjustment that he made. If someone had - it would have been fixed the next day - instead they basically rebuilt the bike to find what was wrong - and still didn't find it because they no-one checked the service manuals.

Hope this info helps.

By the way - ours is Merlot as well - what awesome colors - depending on the light!!

Did you have the Service Bulletin with you to show them? I posted it awhile back.

That seemed to be 'THE' issue with the decel wobble - they say it was done (just like they told us) but the problem was they did it to the original specs - pre- '09 (which I believe was a 3). We didn't question it - cause we didn't know about the specs - (read my posts - you'll see all the BS we went thru).

Turns out the head mechanic did the adjustment. The other mechanics never questioned or checked the Service manuals for the correct adjustment - so no-one questioned his adjustment - just assumed he did it right.

Ask them what they adjusted the fall away to & then check the service bulletin - see if the numbers are right.

Good luck.

We are now extremely happy with the bike - such a simple fix - yet nobody thought to re-check!!

I tried to adjust it tonight, but I don't have the "tool" so I tried using a small screwdriver.
I can get the end of the screwdriver on the adjusting nut but couldn't turn it, I tried tapping on it with a small hammer and lowering the bike off the jack and still no luck turning that nut.
my fall away is a little over 2 swings.

it's a bitch getting to it with the fairing in the way...

Here is the link for the service bulletin - depending on the model fall away is different specs - Ours was between 1 & 1.5. Also - the dealership did the work (we're not mechanically inclined) sorry we could'nt be of more help.

Yeah, they were familiar with the service bulletin and had done it on several Road Glides. They were reluctant to do it on my Ultra but did so at my urging. I'm right at 2 swings now and still wobbling! This issue is NOT limited to Road Glides.

mine just started at 4200 miles, same as everyone else states. I took mine to service dept and borrowed a grease gun and filled the neck and bearings with grease until it came out the top and bottom. As soon as I finished I took it for a spin and no wobble! The head shake stopped. Now my thoughts on this are that the grease took up the space that allowed the wobble. Now I get 1.5 instead of 3 on the test... I don't think it will hold this tolerence for long and the ultimate fix is to tighten the steering head bearings... It's a good way to see what's up...
