Cd Player Skipping

Yep! I have. I currently have an 05 with the same problem. Every so often anyway. My 04 EGlide stereo unit had to be replaced.
I had a tech check the stereo out and of course it worked fine. They told me that "they" were not aware of any problems. sooooo.....
Good luck and let us know if you hear of anything.

I heard of a trick concerning the CD Players.I was told to always (Except long term storage) leave a cd in the player. reasoning was to keep the "Head in the on Position" to cut down vibration. I have been doing this for almost a year an no problems...............

In my 05 Ultra (which I just a week ago traded for an 07 Ultra) the CD would start skipping or just stop playing. Especially when it was warm out. The service manager at my dealer said that they have seem problems with them and it will be no problem to warrant it.
Same problem here... Sometimes it skips, then too just stops on its own. I have to pop out the CD, then push it back in -- and usually that solves the problem... I thought it might be the CD, but it happens on different ones....
So add that to the list of wonderful electronic gadgetry that seems to be less than problem-free: air temp. gauge, fuel gauge, digital oil temp/level gauge...

I've been in the car stereo business for 12 years and my experience with a skipping cd player is that the laser over time gets weak (some quicker than others) and can't read the CD. A new laser is the answer but is usually cost prohibitive. Try several clean cd's and if the problem is with all of them, get ready for a new cd player. Don't get suckered into buying a bunch of cd and laser cleaning crap. I've never seen any of it work.
I had a skipping problem with my CD player in a 2002 Bonneville. Purchased a cleaner CD at WalMart. Problem stopped, hasn't returned. How often do you clean an H-D CD player?
I took my 06 street Glide back to the dealer for some work as well as the skipping CD player, They are going to replace the unit, but I was told it will be some time in Febuary before they get any in. I've dealing with this problem since sept 05.
