Handlebars that fit you, a seat you like, and more fuel.

A stage 1 isn't going to take you from "I hate this bike" to "I love this bike" like a set of apes can.

Only thing I'm doing to mine, which is only 2 days old, is add a backrest/luggage rack, and Heritage handle bars. Rest is staying stock for awhile. May add xieds.

3- handle bars (heard heritage is pretty good)

I had the same thoughts when I picked up my RK and I still don't know the answer. I just rode it which is advice I got from most folks. After about 1000 miles I added the highway pegs and after 2000 miles, I finally added the new pipes, stage 1 kit and tuner. I'm now happy with the performance and sound. I am still trying to figure out which bars I want because that is certainly next on the list. A backrest for the kids would be good for me, but not absolutely needed. A new seat might come in to play soon as well, but for now the stock seat is fine. You could add chrome and accessories all day but that's just extra and not at all needed as far as I'm concerned. Everyone will have their own opinion and it really comes down to what you like, what you want and what you can afford.

Do your homework on parts & mod before spending your money! You'll be upset when you rush and buy a part and then you see a similiar you like more..

Heard the same, that's why I ordered a set to be installed next Tuesday. And the dealer said the stock cables work with them. That saves a ton of money.

Ride 1,000 miles while paying attention to what you'd like performance, comfort, and appearance-wise.

In reality, these are the basic categories that'll get ya setup:

Slipons, Race Tuner or TTS, Air cleaner (Stage 1)
Seat
Bars

Of course, searching this forum for topics like "bars", "seats", "pipes", "air cleaner", etc will keep you reading for many many weeks/months.

Have fun!
