Default Lenale Parade Fan Review

Momma and I went to Sturgis this year for the first time. After hearing all the horror stories about bikes over heating in the stop and go traffic I decided to buy a Lenale fan.

I can't tell you about the installation because I had my Indy install while I was working in Canada.

It looks good, most people don't even realize that it is not the horn. It has an on / off switch mounted on the side of the fan body, but I had the fan wired into the Aux circuit so I just use the Aux switch to control it.

When you turn it on nothing seems to happen for about 3 seconds and then it sounds like a jet engine spooling up. (I think this is to limit the starting amp draw.) It isn't so loud that will bother you, but you can definitely tell it is running. This thing moves a lot of air. More than you would expect considering it's small size.

The temps in Sturgis were relatively cool this year so I saw only a couple of guys pushing their bikes thru traffic. I can tell you I never worried about it. If the traffic got to thick I just started the fan and asked Momma to remind me to turn it off when we got thru the traffic. I feel confident that once I get my stage 1 done. (Is Ref Perf ever going to release the Precision EMS for 2011's?) I never under any circumstances need to worry about over heating the bike.....

It isn't all beer and skittles though....
There is one bad thing with this fan. It's simple physics / heat transfer theory.
All that heat that you are blowing off your engine has to go somewhere... That somewhere would your right leg... I was holding my right leg in some pretty weird positions to keep it out of the airstream... The strong stream of air that the fan was blowing off the engine was amazingly hot! I guess that just shows how well it works...

Anyway to sum it up I consider the Lenale fan to be a win and a keeper!

P.S. - If you decide to get one make sure you buy a genuine Lenale fan. Their are one or more companies making cheap knock offs.

I had the same experience with my Lenale Fan and going to Sturgis. Works great and I did use it a few times in Heavy Traffic in hot temps (Nashville, St. Louis) while riding up. This fan and the oil cooler I added really made a difference.
