When traveling with the cruise engaged say at 65 mph going up a grade it will fall to 62 or so and going downhill climb to 67 or 68. This is a '09 Ultra I just traded my '06 Ultra for. The '06 would hold the speed spot on. I have freinds with '07s and I have to take the back in formation so they can set their cruise. I need input from some of you with '09 and newer models to see if this is common. On my old bike I could do the cruise initialization (did it one time) and it would take up any slack in the ribbon from the cruise module. Is there a process for this on the TBW bikes? Thanks... Oh the bike has stock air cleaner with K&N filter,Vance & Hines slip-ons and xieds. I love this bike big time just curious about the cruise.

Reason: Addition
There is no ribbon in '08 and up bikes - works directly with the ECM. Mine seems to loose or gain very little up or down a grade. I could see it happening in your example on an incline if you were in 6th gear though.
The cruise on my 09 Classic works the same as yours,it will drop back slightly on a hill then it will over shoot the speed a bit at the top of the hill.It is accurate enough for me,and I doubt there is anything you can do about it.
My 11 Limited with the 103 will vary 2 to 3 mph in either direction when going up and down hills. I'm talking about 65 to 70 mph in sixth gear. My 10 EGC with the 96 was even worse. That thing was a dog in 6th gear.
2.) going downhill from selected speed, slight speed gain then bike CC makes up for that.
My 09 96" stage one like 65 MPH as minimum speed for 6th gear on level ground. 6th works more better for 70's and up.
try running at those grades in 5th and see if she likes it better.
this H-D CC is awesome, better than any of my cars- I never thought I'd have any use for it- and I sure do it turns out.--- I love that I can flick the button to change up or down in 1 mph increments. when going from 75 to 65 zones, I just flick it 10 times and I have hands free to give finger to speed cameras
