Default iPod Install Question on FLHTCUSE2

I have the ADVANCED AUDIO HANDS FREE PHONE INTERFACE KIT already installed on my bike from years ago. I have read the many helpful posts here regarding the installation of the iPod interface kit. There are many references to the "non" ultra overlay harness. When I installed the ADVANCED AUDIO HANDS FREE PHONE INTERFACE KIT I had to purchase and install the Ultra Overlay Harness (70164-06). Anyone know if this will work with this module? To Recap, I have the ULTRA overlay harness and not the NON ULTRA overlay harness which the kit calls out.

Also I want to install the 665 and mount the Zumo XM antenna under the fairing. Has anyone mounted this antenna on top of the iPod interface module which has been mounted sidesaddle on top of the CB and XM modules. Just wondering if things would be stacked up too high and cause fairing clearance problems?

You may already have them, but the installation instructions for the iPod interface module are in this link:

http://www.harley-davidson.com/en_US...ts/-J05168.pdf

References to the non-Ultra overlay harness (NUOH) that you may have read, as well as the reference to the 69200033 harness in the installation instructions, are to provide the 35 wire connector to the back of the HK radio; your bike already has the 35 wire connector so you don't need the NUOH or the 69200033 mentioned in the directions. (See "Additional Parts Required" at page 1, and par. 3, page 2.)

Also, there is not, according to the directions above, any compatibility issue with the iPod module and the Hands Free interface; you simply don't use two of the 5 wires that would be used in the absence of the Hands Free interface--par. 3, page 2.

The instructions say the module will fit, but if you are concerned about the tightness of the fit, consider the bracket that is avaialble from member 141 Starlifter and shown in this thread:

https://www.hdforums.com/forum/touri...d-modules.html

Good luck with your project.

Carl
