I have installed the HBAMI kit 77107-09 on my 07 FLHTC. I have now recently purchased an CB. I have read that there is no connection on the Harness to connect the CB. In the CB instructions it saids I need the Non ultra harness 70169-06. Does anybody know if this will connect into the rest of my Kit I previous installed. The dealership doesn't readly know never installed it.
Probably not. I say "probably" because your kit appears to use a harness that runs from passenger controls/headset connector directly to the 35 wire connector plugged into the back of the HK radio as opposed to separate connector to plug into the NUOH, 77109-06 which is how the 77108-09A BAMI kit on my bike works with the CB installed.
Does the rear passenger wiring run directly to the 35 wire connector?
Also, try the search function using the part no. of your kit to see if someone has done what you are contemplating (adding CB).
The harness you used doesn't have the connections for the CB or XM module. It is just for the music. You will need the Non-Ultra harness 70169-06. It replaces the harness that connects to the radio and fairing harness. It will have the other connections for the CB, XM, and rear speakers. If you decide to add any of these items.
If the passenger wiring runs uninterrupted to the 35 wire plug connected to the radio, installing the NUOH will require that you unplug the previously installed 35 wire connector and the electrical wiring to the passenger (headset and PTT) by the harness in your kit is effectively disconnected from the radio.
Simply buying the NUOH won't necessarily solve your CB install issue since the wires in the disconnected 35 wire connector you originally installed will need to be connected to the NUOH either through the appropriate connectors on the NUOH or directly into the NUOH's 35 wire connector, replacing wires that are already there.
You’re correct; the harness that came with the 77107-09 kit is an uninterrupted run to the 35 wire plug connected to the radio. My work around was to buy Non-Ultra harness 70169-06 and I removed the Head set harness from my old harness and installed in the new harness. It was pretty easy to remove the pins 8 from the 35 pin harness and 4 from the driver 12 pin headset.
eglide07 ... I also have the 77107-09 harness and would like to add the CB. I did purchase the non-ultra harness 70169-06. How exactly did you modify the wiring to make this work?
