I haven't messed with the front brake lever. The only thing I've done is removed the faring to check out why my radio doesn't work. Some suggested a wire or harness came loose. Didn't find anything. But that is beside the point. To be honest I don't know if this has been an issue for a while or started when I removed the faring. I only noticed it when my turn signals, cruise control and horn stopped working. I fixed that issue by tracing down a couple bare wire connections. Taped those and replaced the blown acc fuse and not all the signals, cruise and horn work. Just a stuck brake light. I did just check the front brake light switch and the little button is in tacked and seems to be being depressed properly by the brake lever. Will have to wait until the morning and start running down the wires themselves.

If you have a brake relay, pull it out and see if the brake light is still on. If it is, most likely neither switch is the problem. Disconnecting one wire from the rear brake light switch should turn off the light if that switch is stuck ON. The front brake light switch is held against the side of the housing by a V shaped spring. If the spring has shifted or broken, the switch can be pushed back into the housing just enough that the lever won't be able to turn off the light even with the little button on the end of the plunger still attached.
