Not only that, but if you want to change things(who doesn't?) such as new cams, tuner, pipe, etc. Then you're probably "up the crick" when it comes to warranty work anyway, unless it something electrical.. and then if you extend the warranty it'll still cost you $50 deductable everytime you walk in the door.
Getting it is a crap shoot, and the bottom line is no one hopes that they ever have to use it.
I have, and I know several people who have Harley ESPs. Work can be done anywhere as long as they call for an authorization. No one, and I mean no one has had an issue with getting work done on a bike with a Stage 1. You start changing bore and cams, and your motor blows, the ESP shouldn't cover it, and it probably won't.
I paid $14xx for a 7 year ESP with tire & wheel coverage when my bike was new. It's paid for itself in tires already, and with the amount of riding I do, and the little things that keep breaking (this week the stator plug decided to start leaking), I'll come out way ahead on the deal.
I got the exact numbers from my guy here in Oregon...
5 year
CNA/HD warranty.....they say this has been the exclusive company for HD for many years(?) The paper work says HD but the checks come from CNA
$1844 for 5 year
$288 for wheel and tire for 5 years
Thanks to Dan and Leon for their input and PM's.....I am shopping with their info.
Iam bumping this thread of mine.....My warranty is up in May...I called the places that some of you were so kind to offer....bottom line...All told me that HD MOCO is on all dealers to sell at the official HD price.....which is basically the number I have shown above....
Anyone else bought a warranty in the past 30 days at a cheaper price?
Got one yesterday on my new Electra Glide. The salesman told me HD wouldn't let them deal on it. The 5 year unlimited miles with tire and wheel cost me $1664. I'm in Houston and don't know if location has any bearing on the price or not.
I just loked at mine with tire & wheel & a full 5 years coverage (used 08 RK) & it was right at $1500. Already paid for itself as soon as my sled is ready....Next week.
Just for reference, I just purchased a Honda 4 year extended warranty for my '10 GoldWing. MSRP is $800, got it on sale for $450.
Their blurb states; "Coverage is virtually the same as the 3 year Honda Limited Warranty coverage you get with a new Honda; however, tires, batteries, audio equipment and accessories are not covered. Every Honda Protection Plan is good across the country, and replacements are always made with Honda Genuine Parts."
The "audio equipment" exclusion I'm not enthused about, but overall, I feel it's a good deal.
I'll look around next year to get the Harley extension for my '11 Street Glide. Wish the warranties weren't so pricey. It might be better to look at trading, then everything's new.

I purchased my warranty at the beginning of May and it was for the same price you listed. I checked 3 HD dealership and all had the same price.
