Default Off-Road Lights???

2010 UC ~ I have two 135W KC's leftover from another project and got to wondering.......??????......hmmmmmm
Any chance these might be able to help me on my rides through the mountains at night? I have the original complete wiring harness, switches, relay, in-line fuses, etc.
Has anyone done anything with this wattage/amp draw?
OR should I save these for another 4x4 project??

Thanks, 44 Dan

That's 23 amps draw on your charging system.

I wouldn't.

and keep in mind that "watts" is more about power consumption than light output= lumens.

we seem to be on the cusp of some great LED high lumen applications.

Thanks mkguitar,
I just had these sitting around (new) and my fabricating mind took over. I fully agree about the LED's it's just that I don't have anything laying around...yet. that's more draw than was told to me by another (I'm not that techy)....thanks.

current draw is calculated using ohm's law.

it is easy to remember that in a 12 volt system, 100 watts works out to 8.3 amp current draw.
and you add a bit for resistance in the wiring, switches and relay

ac/dc are the same--- in a 120 volt system, 1000 watts is 8.3 A

there's an app for that; "electrical toolkit" for iphone

It's watts divided by volts equals amps.
Example: 1200 watts at 120 volts is 10 amps.
