Hey, gas is indeed $10+ a gallon but only for us civilians, you should be entitled to gas and oil coupons so it wouldn't be that bad.I had my Ultra and a Road King shipped over in a shared container and they arrived in the same condition they left the US.But I think it's only a matter of luck, anyway welcome and enjoy Sicily and if you happen to ride north to Rome beer is on me (O'Doul's).
I'm not totally sure how it works yet, but I know I don't get coupons for the bike (unless it's my only vehicle). And they said we aren't supposed to be using our car coupons on a vehicle other than what they were sold for.

Right.
When I was there they had 3 dealers in the island. One in Catania, one in Palermo and one in Licata. I used the one in Licata, the one in Catania scared me after hearing some stories around base.
I saw my first heard the other day. But supposedly they are "Geep". A mix between a Goat and a Sheep. I'm not an animal expert so I don't know if that is true. But I've heard it from many people previously stationed here.
Before I came out here I had checked using the Dealer Locater and the only one in Italy was up towards Naples. I just tried checking again and it isn't showing any in Italy at all.
That's weird I just checked and it is showing 4
But several others have posted that some are closed guess they aren't good about updating the info. Anyway here is a link.
Once you get the settlement, buy a new outer faring and install it yourself. What is hard about that? Or let the dealer install it if you have enough settlement money. But I would do it myself to know it was done right, and save the money for gas.
Why didn't you direct the movers on how to secure your bike in that moving truck? Why leave it up to a couple of guys that have no clue?
Sorry to hear about what happened in the crate. So unavoidable. But you know, these days all you have out there are drug users and losers doing this kind of work.
