Springer????
the fork configuration is different
on most bikes the attachment to the frame is at a point behind the forks--- on the H-D touring series, the attachment to the frame is IN FRONT of the forks ( the triple tree is backwards)
have a look with a flashlight along the frame neck and you'll see the geometry
the springer uses the same size neck, you could put one on, it'd look odd.
and- the springer is an interesting riding experience...not everyone likes it once given the choice ( in '49) by H-D to have hydralics on the front
