awhile back I read somewhere on this forum about a 12v to 5v(??) transformer thingy for the tomtom xl gps....i need one, anyone remember anything about this???..if i remember correctly it was a small sealed box with
12v wires on one end and a usb mini plug on the other wire the other end...
nope, that isn't it...the one i am looking for has 2 wires that go to the 12v source and a cable on the other side of a small box with a mini usb plug on the other side of the box...
Very interesting site, they make one specifically for HD models and has an OEM look.Would I be able to charge my GoPro camera with it?I like it much better than the above item by Griffin. Thanks
To be pedantic, are you looking for a mini USB plug (male) or socket (female).
I would suggest you stick with something like RollaMo suggested as it is easy enough to get a USB / mini USB lead and then you can use it to charge other devices in future

Its the same thing I run my Nuvi from. The small black box converts 12v to 5v's, and has the small male USB on the other end. Its a hard wire set up from Garmin, less than 20 bux. You can even get them from ebay.
If you check www.mountguys.com they will have a power cable for your unit; which is what you need to hard wire it to the bike. I just did a Garmin that way and I know they carry them for TomTom too.
