Default Suspension Problems.... HELP...

So i decided to install the progressive dropins for the front of my 02 RG. In doing so I replaced oil in both forks (about 10oz each). While replacing the oil in the left fork (the cartridge side) I was unscrewing the the cartridge in hopes of removing it. I probably turned it 20 times or so when i realized that all i had to do was simple unscrew it a a few turns... i replaced the oil and put it all back together. My bike is now no lower than it was stock and it rides as if i am constantly bottoming the forks out. I am wondering if all of the turning i did on the left side might have messed something up??? Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!

if you were unscrewing the allen bolt at the bottom of the fork you did no damage , the cartridge was probably spinning and you didn't even loosen it , most of Progressives stock height kits will lower the front 1/2" anyway , I don't know why they don't tell you this , to prevent bottoming you need to increase the preload (install a longer pvc pipe on top)

I have been constantly think about this and it came to me that maybe the shock could have too much oil in them. If the bike is supposed to be lower shouldn't the oil level need to be lowered as well?

I was unscrewing the 3/4" nut at the top of the cartridge. It looks as if it holds the cartridge in place...

tj316, please explain more concerning installation of a longer pvc pipe. I will be performing the same modifications within the nesxt few months and do not recall seeing this mentioned in other related treads. Thx

I would agree that the preload would be an issue without the pvc spacer. However the bike is not lowered at all. It remained the stock height and now has no suspension travel....
