Does anyone else have (or had) this problem. I've got an 2009 ultra Classic. After riding awhile and getting the motor up to temp. I find that after letting it set for 15 minutes or so, and starting it, it makes a real loud clattering noise, like lifter noise. The dealer put in new lifters at 15,000 miles and again at 23,000. it has 2,000 miles on these lifters, and still makes noise on restart up, which leads me to believe the problem is somewhere else. Anyone have any ideas.
Thanks in advance Jonnierock
burch 753. ( Hope I got that right, can't remember one minute to the next). You are correct. Its the oem compensator sprocket. The SE comp is the fix. Changed two this past week-end. One in a 2008, the other in a 2007. Totally fixed loud banging noise. Enzo

You need the screaming eagle compensator to replace the piece of crap stock one. My buddy had this issue, replaced his started twice to no avail. Then he added the S/E compensator and the problem has never happened again. His bike is an 09 UC with about 40K miles on it.
