Who cares how old you are. Ride what you like, ***** those who hate and smile as you throttle away. I've had almost twenty scooters and my first with a windshield (never thought of bags) was my 10 UC. I was 47 at the time. I now wonder why I waited.

Got my ultra at age 47. Had all metrics / go fast bikes up until then and would take long trips on them despite not being built for that purpose. Finally was able to get into my ultra,
(also black pearl), and have enjoyed it greatly. Love the comfort, storage, tunes, etc.
Like many others have previously mentioned, it's not how old you are, but what type of riding you do.

Bought my first touring bike (goldwing) when I was 21 years old.Bought it the year I got married. My wife and I do a lot of two up touring. I am 48 now, still have the same wife, still doing lots of two up touring. We are now riding an Ultra and would never consider buying anything else. I don't think age has as much to do with buying a dresser as your riding style does.

It's black pearl and in an attempt to "young it up" I've blacked out all the lights. I have the removable kit for my tour pack. But when I don't have it. I miss it.
I realize at 38 years old I'm pretty young to have a fully loaded bike. Injuries and height, I am limited. Am I alone? What are some reasons for the bike you chose? I have not the luxury to ride any bike on the show room. Anybody else?
If you haven't added a quick detach backrest and rack, do it. You won't miss the tourpak as much. Unless I go on a long ride the TP stays off until winter.

What age is too young to be comfortable? All I've ever owned are baggers.

IMHO, the full blown Harley tourers are purpose built vs age group built. If you're going to pack a passenger, clothing and or gear for extended trips, and your goal is put the miles on; the ultra or similiar is for you.

I love my road king. With the tour pack there is very little my bike won't do compared to an ultra. It's great for me around town and on the highway. I did the softail thing and for me Ive been very happy for the past two years on this bike never thought I wanted or needed a different bike. Buy what works for you functionally it's your money.
