I don't see why you shouldn't. Just be aware that occasionally different tyres don't work well together, but I have only had that problem a few times in half a million miles.

i talked to dunlop about this issue. i have the 2010 with an 18 inch front wheel. trying to find a tire that is compatible with the american elite on the rear. the ae does not come in an 18 inch size.

the guy from dunlop did not recommend using an e3 on the front, and the ae on the rear.

so that leaves mail order for the ae on the rear, and dealer for the 408 on the front.

Default cant mix car tires either

the e3 is a radial and elite is a bias ply , As I found out earlier in my posts that the e3 isnt for newer bikes, checked dunlop web site and they only seem to go up to 2010 on fitment chart.
my elite on rear and 408 on front isnt a problem, I had a handlebar wobble before I changed the tire that was so bad I was afraid to let go of the bars, the steering columb is tight and does the swing thing at 1-3\4 turn , the 408 seemed a bit more prone to wobble when I first had it put on compared to the 407 I had, I will be ordering a new tire in spring and will probably do mail order thing, cheepest I could find a tire in my area was 285 can all the way up to 350 usa or canadian so some one is making shitloads of cash on mark up when I see prices of 165 at whole sale on internet. bike rides nice now and im not balancing on the square tire any more when i take corners any longer.

The E3 comes in both radial and bias ply.
