Problem: After hitting the Start Button...there is approx a 1 second pause, flowed by a clanking noise (no other way to describe it). The bike finally turns over after that. It runs fine after the initial start up.
1 second delay sounds like a battery problem. google how to check you battery state of charge at rest. if you get 12.4V or below on a digital voltmeter, your battery is on it's last leg.
Ive got a 09 roadglide with that same clunking sound as well. No 1 sec delay but definitly the clunk noise. It too runs great after it does start. I still need to research that.
Get you a Manuel solenoid switch,before ya'll need it.sounds like a battery issue,but I had it,and it was the solenoid.It was not easy pushing a Glide off,in fact had to get some help.I really wish Harley still had a kicker.
