I got Capt. Itch's crotch cooler. It's leather with studs and conchos. Looks and works great and is easy to install. Good luck with your project.

The Harley ones are a pain to install. It is almost impossible to get to the top bolt.

They do make a noticeable difference. The right side guard did not fit over my new pipes. I rode without it for a couple days until my right leg began to cook. I notched it to fit the pipe and installed it. What a difference!

I agree on all counts. It's personal preference but I don't care for some of the leather ones I've seen, I like the rigid ones better. Some of the leather ones look like they would be rubbing the paint on the side covers if you weren't careful.

you want to make a top notch mid-frame heat deflector? Get one that will let the heat come back up when its cold.
I have a set of HD's Love-em, but when its colder I would like to take them off.
Make them rotate up and down and you will be set.
Yes, they make a big difference to me.
If it turns out with the same quality as your windshields, it will be great.

Good luck w/your venture...I think Capt Itch might have a problem w/your new product, though... He makes a sweet crotch cooler already so will be hard to beat quality/price.

I have the HD ones and they are a good improvement, easy to install on the later models put a set on my buddies 05 crap there is not enough room to put a feeler gage in there let alone your hands or tools.

You might as well jump on the band wagon, every other dealer has. I looked at them all and the HD ones are the only ones that look good. They were easy to install and work well, but maybe you can improve on them. Just don't make them big and ugly.

How about just making them with louvers you can open or shut?

I have RJ Originals and they are great. Look fantastic and actually keep less heat from hitting my wife's right ankle. Good luck with your design!
