Handlebar change ignition trouble

A buddy of mine was doing a install of cyclesmith 14inch bars and the bars are now installed. The problem being when we put the ignition together we cannot get the ignotion to turn? Anyone have any suggesstions on what to check?

The key won't turn?
The starter won't engage? Kill switch off?

It could be misaligned. The service manual has a section that explains how to realign everything. I used a flat blade screw driver in place of the tool and was able to realign mine.

Dunno if it's related but I had some work done on mine at the dealer. There is a plastic piece underneath the switch that wont allow the thingy to line up if it's put back in the wrong way....check the thingy (sorry, that's why I pay outrageous prices to have the dealer do it)
