Default Alternatives to Bike Barn?

I do not have access to a garage and was looking for alternatives that might be a little cheaper than the bike barn.

Do you have a yard? Parking stall? Street parking?

I have a designated parking spot (open). It is off the main road.

I found a company that makes the Cycle Shell, looks sturdier.

I've had really good luck with the Bike Barn but have it staked down in the backyard. If it's not properly secured, with the included hardware, it'll literally blow away during any blustery weather. This might be something to think about, if you're parking on asphalt, no matter what brand you eventually decide on.

I have both the Bike Barn and Cycle Shelter and used them for three years in Germany. The Cycle Shelter was not as sturdy as the Bike Barn. Cycle Shelter uses fiberglass tent poles to hold it up. The Bike barn uses galvanized poles. Cycle shelter after three years the velcro tabs inside broke and the poles would not stay in position. The Bike Barn poles slipped into sleeves that pretty much ran the whole width. Teh floor on the Shelter would hold water when parking the bike wet. The Barn does not have a floor and the water would drain away. I saw a single width bike barn with a custom night train get blown over while I was in Germany. He did not have any of the guide ropes holding it down. I have not seen the Cycle Shell up close but a BMW rider in my housing area has been using one for the past two years and it still looks fine from the road.

Currently I am stationed in Germany, without a Garage. I can tell you I have used my Bike Barn for two years now, and it is amazing.

I've got a cycle shell, I bought it new in 2005 to put my honda vtx in, replaced the cover with a larger one in 09 for my ultra classic and accidentally ripped it last year, getting new fabric (150.00) this month. very sturdy product and very durable. Galvanized poles and a hard plastic floor. The floor I have is original and is six years old and looks good as ever. I would buy again

cycle shell looks like it is more durable for parking lots as your bike sits on the floor and the cover is attached to that floor thus you don't have to stake it down?

Just ordered the Cycle Shelter for my 04 Ultra. I liked the shelter over the Bike Barn because of the floor and completely seals. Hope I made the right choice.
