For anyone who has one, can you tell me the height of the control box and if it's waterproof?
Reason being, if it's close in height to the Fuel Pak, why can't it be placed under the seat on top of the ECU? Would be easier to mount, that's for sure.
As far as the 02 sensor wires, I would pull the tank and run the front one in the wire trough, a lot neater if the wires are long enough.
For anyone who has installed one with a stock 96ci and stage 1 package (a/c & pipes), did your mileage increase any? I'm currently getting 42mpg with a Fuel Pak...
You could mount it somewhere other than the fuse cover, but the top of the ECU would not be a good place to put it. You have to send the ECU in to get it flashed. The control box has the leads for the O2 sensors and the leads that plug into the old O2 sensor leads coming from it. The box they give you to send the ECU back to them won't accomidate the control box and leads.

I would send the ECU in before I even started the install so I can install everything at one time. If I knew the box was heat & waterproof, I would install it with extra 3M tape onto the area of the frame behind the rear 'jug.....

I wouldn't put it there, better off under the battery box
I installed mine about a month ago and it works really well. As far as mileage goes I'm not really sure since I could care less. Idled smoother, ran smoother and stronger. No popping or other strangeness.
Removal of the tank isn't necessary and I don't know if the leads would be long enough anyway. I mounted my wires as suggested and you can't even see them. I did shove the connector for the front 02 sensor up next to the coils. Hidden and out of sight. Lots of R&D was done with this product so I would just install as suggested rather than try and reinvent the install process.
Not really. Its a simple install. Only thing I would suggest is to install the 02's into the FM header before you mount it on the bike. Just easier that way. Also the 02's already have antiseize on them so don't buy any in case you think you need it. Don't over tighten the 02's or the header nuts
