I have a problem with the rear strut on the left side bag guard. One day at work a fellow rider pointed out to me that the rear strut was all the way forward, touching the front one. I figured some goofball didn't know what he was doing and intentionally put it there (bike is a "new to me" '07 Ultra), even though it made no sense why anyone would do that. So I pulled the bag and re-positioned the strut back to where it belonged. A few weeks later I noticed the damn thing had moved forward again. I re-positioned it again, torqueing the shiz out of the screws to make sure it wouldn't move again. I'll be damned if it ain't movin' again.
I'm gonna put a piece of sticky rubber I have left over from a handlebar mount and see if that doesn't keep it in place. If that doesn't work I guess I need a priest who'll perform an exorcism!
Assuming you mean one of the clamps on the rails, yea a sticky piece of rubber might help you out. I have Capt Itch's studded leather wraps on my rails so there is no way the clamps could move on me.
