Had a slight wobble on my 2003 Road King on take offs. The dealer said it was the front tire, it had a feathered edge on one side of it. Replaced tire and wobble was gone. At high speeds no wobbles ever.
Your buddies knowledge is suspect. Given the right circumstances any motorcycle can wobble. As they come from the factory Road Kings are not any more prone to it than other bikes. JMO (I'm not that humble)
I had an 02 FLHPI. Now have 07 RG. No wobbble to 115. However, tire cupped or out of balance would be first check. On a bike with mileage, second check would be swing arm bushing / torque bolts. Third, motor mount. Fourth, sterring head bearing torque. Fifth, suspension check. Last, alignment of wheels and motor. These are normal maintenance checks. I would do all the above for the propermaintenance of any motorcycle.
99 roadking here and I get wobble at higher speeds passing cars when I cross the center line and at higher speeds around corners I will start checking spokes tire pressure and neck bearings. Anyone got info on the stearing dampners?
