My VIN also gives this notice, since I have added my pcIII and have no excesive heat or ping, do we that have upgraded even need this flash? and if we do it will we have to remap the pcIII, guess I need tto call jamie at fuel moto monday when they reopen.
Mine is slated for it too. My appointment is for tomorrow morning.
I'm hopin that a fresh post on Bulletin 0903 ets started in a few days and those who have had it done can start reporting in. I think it will be good to of course get this kind of flash fix... also guessing that It won't be a substantial performance changer and that I'll end up doing a pkg. like many others do.
Oh yeah, Trolls.. don't even start. Moco is doing what they should on this particular item 0903 and I'm quite happy.

After reading the post I took a trip out tot he dealership to get the low down on the recall. My concern was that I've had my bike dyno tuned with the SERT and didn't want to mess with the map. I just got back from the dealer and what they told me was this: They have a list of ECM calibration numbers that are affected by the recall. The "fix" (according to the service bulletin) changes the torque curve at 1500 rpms. They hooked my bike up to the digital tech and told me I was ok without the change. When I had my bike tuned, the ECM calibration number was changed (along with the baseline torque curve) and the "fix" is not needed for my bike. I assume the same would be true for anyone using the FuelPak or PCIII.
I just spoke with my hd tech he said that the recall was to check to see if my stock ecm had the correct calibration, Wonder if some went out with the wrong flash? This could be why some have problems and some dont. They are willing to check mine with my pcIII and all in place so im taking it in tomorrow. will let you know how it goes.
Went by Earl Smalls HD in Marietta this am, and printed out the recall. They didnât know a thing about it, but the service manager and warranty personal sure did give it a going over and were still taking about when I left. Had some skull covers installed while they redid the stock download with what they told me was the new one. Hmm time will tell, and there is nothing worst that a Indian on the warpath without his horse to ride, lol.
I wonder why the Hell my dealer does'nt have this there 1 mile from the HD plant in York?
The same reason the dealer charges (and is charged) the same amount for shipping as a dealer in East Jeezuz, California. Although I'm probably over analyzing it, there are US trade laws which prohibit dealers from being able to leverage their geographical proximity to a company's headquarters or manufacturing facility to obtain special pricing or service.
For what it's worth, I talked to the service manager at my dealer (HD of North Texas) this morning and he knew nothing about it. Apparently I'm the first person to ask them about it. They verified that my Dyna was included in the recall and offered to schedule a time for me to bring it in. I told them I'd hold off until my 5k service. Like I mentioned in a previous message, I'll wait and see if there are any "unexpected" side effects from this update.
I just researched the VIN for my 07 RKC and got the same message about the 0903 "recall". It will be interesting to see what reimbursement, if any, those of us who addressed this on our own dime (e.g., SERT, AC) receive from HD. Would seem fair to me that if we've paid to have the problem fixed that they at least reimburse us for what they would have to pay the dealer for the recall flash.
Well, I may end up looking like my (usual) dumbass[X(], but what I've found out so far does not sound like this is a tuner fix by any means. Even in this thread it sounds like a narrow purpose fix for something else within the factory config.
Are you scheduled into your shop yet? Ask away when you see the tech.

I just spoke to my stealer. He states the recall (0903:TORQUE SMOOTHING CALIBRATION) is a one-time re-map that shuts down the rear cylinder for stop & go, parade-type functions. This will elevate the high heat created by idling. One you hit the throttle, the rear cylinder starts firing.
Iâm sticking to my PCIII set-up which is working just fine
Dan - the odometer went up another 100 miles this morning
I dont agree with parade download mentioned above, this recall effects bikes up to early nov.builds in touring line and wont effect stage maps already installed.Time will tell if this works and for them I hope it does. But people who have upgraded to SER and PC111s and still have noise after dyno tunes,I wouldnt get my hopes up.
