Typical deal in the dealership ,they insist that the tour pack never came with both cams locking.I could just buy a new locking cam setup at 45 bucks or so.(if you could find the discontinued piece) Then they referred me to the Illinois lock company. The Illinois lock company referred me to the actual manufacturer,Kryptonyte Locks, who explained that in 02-04 they were putting dual locking cams on the bikes with matching keys, however they dont do that anymore. My current option is to send the locks to them and they will rekey them at 20 bucks per cam,However they will not have the keys match. If this makes any sense to you you are better than I.....bottom line is I will get new keys for the cam locks and save a few bucks.....sounds good
before you do that listen to my experience with those stupid locks.
I installed a q release tourpack with speakers and rack. expensive. I purshased cheasy lock from harley. stupid key is long and pokes you in the *** for a year then I go to unlock it and the guts had rattled apart and I had to dismatle the damn thing and cut it off. furious I returned to hd and told them to give me my money back or I will never spend another dollar here. even though the time limit was way past they gave me all my cash back.
the locks are crap. If I were in a situation away from home where I needed to take off my seat I would have never gotten it off. hate those locks they were very poorly engineered. weld it on you will get the same or better results.
once more just because I had to drag that stupid key around for a year....
the locks are crap. no middle ground crap crap crap.
the rebuild kit for standard camlocks are 15 bux a set and come with all the pieces short of the pivot that is pressed in.
save yourself a major headache and ditch the lock.
I had the Harley detachable locks with that long goofy mini barrel lock style key. The locking cams fit so tight they gouged the crap out of the plastic parts on my bike mounted detachable docking hardware. I followed another forum member's advice from here and bought these instead:
They are nicely machined and come with a security bit. It is a mini torx with a security post in the middle so you need the special bit to get the fastener on and off. There's not much of a head to get a grip with a pliers so I feel it is every bit, if not more, secure than the HD part. I don't have any connection with the ebay seller, I just like the product.
Nothing is 100 percent secure, but anything that will make someone spend a few minutes to slow them down from just walking away with my $1500.00 tour pack makes me feel a bit better.
I had a buddy use the locks once and they broke the first time he used them. Now he (and I) use zip ties around the plunger, once installed there is no way anyone can compress the plunger to release, just carry a small set of dikes in the TP for when you want to remove the pack.
I have to admit that I like the Detachable Clamp it Securely Junior Locking System posted by Retrax. I have one of the Harley keyed locks and so far okay, the key is carried in the pouch inside the tour pack, but it is a poor design and I end up using wire ties most of the time. I think I will order a set of the DCISJLS (Detachable Clamp It Securely Locking System) and give them a good workout. It appears well designed and easy to use. I have to get my fingers in there to push the latch so a center post torx should be no problem. The biggest problem I see with the DCISJLS is it's name.
Just purchased a set, they come two to a package. I will let you know how well I like them.

I agree. After I looked at how they were mounted, I decided to unlock them with the key. Key is too long to work right and in attempting to turn it, broke the locking mechanism, piece of junk. Part of the latch sprung out, part is who knows where. By pushing the center button in with a screwdriver, it does lock though. Take the key and put a 90 degree bend in it so that you can turn the key in the lock, not scratch the tourpak, and with luck, actually turn the lock without it coming apart. Don't think I will waste my money replacing them with more HD junk. Like the idea of the billet aluminum ones though.

I think you'll like em. The ebay page has a youtube video link that shows how they install. You just use your index finger to hold them onto the install tool, twist to tighten, and that's it.
I agree, the HD setup is poorly designed and cumbersome. I took the HD ones off and threw them away. I am much happier with the Ebay ones.
I bought the locks on Ebay and I plan on tossing the Harley locking cams. I had a dual set with the matching keys and one of the locks stopped working. Luckily it was the center post that popped out instead of stop working while attached to the bike. I used the Ebay locks last weekend on a trip. Definitely just as secure and you dont really notice them at first.
The best thing about my Road King as that it is a convertable, from stripped down cruier to full boat touring bike. But, I have worried about the tour pack, or even the back rest and rack when leaving the bike for long periods of time unattended. The DCISJLS will transfer to what ever my RK wants to do. I even added a QR fairing for winter riding this year.
Therefore, I can go from no windshield, no rack to windshield w/T-bag windshield bag and rack (My communter set up), to windshield w.T, rack and sissy bar, to windshield w/T and King Tourpack (Summer cruising) to Full fairing and Tour pack (My winter keep as much stuff dry mode). Oh, did I say I love this bike...I do. It's even the fastest color.....
My friend has a Road Glide, it is always a Road Glide, it will always be a Road Glide. Its a nice Road Glide and I looked at them carefully, but I am a convertable kind of guy and like to keep my options open.
I think we need to help this company come up with a new name, DCISJLS just does not cut it. Any ideas?

I've heard a lot of negative about the harley cam locks. Consider looking at the Brukus product for the docking station. I got one and I'm very happy with it. Brukus has a great reputation and backs their products.
