I have a '06 SG with SE slipons (98B version), SE air box and 25 degree injectors. I have had the bike dyno tuned 2x and am still not happy. The higher gears are great but the lower gears below 2100 rpm still seem lean. I have a big surge at 1500rpms on decel along with some pop and gurgle. If running at slow speeds in traffic I feel mini surges until I get above 2100rpms. I don't want to put the motor thru more stress with another tune.
I'm wondering if anyone with the same mods has their dyno tuned map saved on a PC or CD that they can send me?
I'm actually considering having the dealer set my ECM back to stock so I can install a PCIII from fuelmoto. I hate to waste the $600 I spent on the SERT and tune but I have to get this bike running right.
Thanks,
Frank
A lot of dealers are useless at SERT/dyno tuning. That's is a friggin sad commentary that they can't even get a slightly modded bike to run absolutely perfectly...the first time in. I would be more than pissed about that...all it takes is an experienced tuner! Why in hell, settle for a preset map from someone elses tune...I sure would'nt.

Bounty, I hear you but I figure at this point I have nothing to loose before I switch to a PCIII from Jamie at fuel moto. I don't have much confidence in the tuners in my area. (southern NJ)
Sorry to hear that man. I went the other way. Bought a "cheap" PCIII and decided if that didn't work then I'd do a SERT. But I don't have any problems so I'm staying with the PC.
I hear you can get SERT maps pretty easy. Maybe one of the SERT guys will answer up. Either that, or find a different dyno guy.
I know a few guys in my area that got sucked into SERT's and now run PCIII's. My tuner actually guarantees results and lets you do a complete road test before the deal is closed...most returning with a huge smile, while commenting that they cannot believe the actual difference a precise tune makes. What a rush, standing in the chamber, watching your bike get tuned by a pro!
My understanding is that the SERT is serialized to the ECM, so you wouldn't be able to sell it unless you also sold your ECM along with it. It sounds like your tuner is tuning for wide open throttle and not paying attention to part throttle cells. Don't give up on the SERT, just find someone that knows what they're doing. There must be someone in your area.
