lucas oil stabilizer

It got so bad that I stopped driving the truck. After starting it, it would clack like hell.
I dumped a whole bottle of Lucas oil in when I changed the oil.
After running the truck for 20 minutes, all of a sudden it was quiet, took it for a ride around town, and no more noise, none!
Perhaps it was a coincidence, but it seemed to work for me!
I didn't have any faith that it would do anything, but the truck never had any lifter noise at all after the treatment.
I sold that truck, and bought a used 2003 Yukon Denali, and the day after I brought it home, guess what, I had yet another vehicle with a VERY loud lifter noise. Odd that it didn't make the noise when I test drove it, I think they had warmed it up before I took the test drive. Anyway, this one was much worse than the van, and I was a little pissed off, but bought the truck as-is, so had no recourse with the dealer.
It usually was only noisy at startup, and after the lifters pumped up, it was ok. But after a couple of weeks it got worse, much worse. Was on a trip down south, and thought I was going to get stuck in a repair shop, so I dumped some lucas oil in to see if it would make it more quiet, NO go, this time it did nothing for the noise.
After returning home, I changed the oil and dumped in 1/2 bottle
of Seafoam into the oil, and guess what..after 20 minutes the sound went away totally, and never came back!
When I changed the oil again, it was black as hell. I think the Seafoam did a good job of cleaning the gunk out of the engine.
Seafoam is nothing like Lucas oil, it's as thin as water.
I was never a fan of additives before, but after experiencing what I did, I do think they are can be good in certain circumstances, like old motors that have a lot of sludge in them, and were poorly maintained.
I see no reason to use this stuff in a newer motor though, if it's properly maintained there should be no reason for it.

I use it in mine, after having the motor making cam noise last fall had warranty work done, rocker shafts replaced, and lifters replaced, we will see how it goes. I used it in my other bike, and the tensioner wear was much less on that bike.
