lucas oil stabilizer
It's bascialy a viscosity improver/thickener which is why some guys notice motor/valves are quieter using it along with maybe improving oil pressure few psi when hot too.
The reason for that is the avg air cooled hd mtoor gets too hot in warmer temp(esp summer) and thickening visc helps that situation.
BUT like you said with high quality oils avail totday that if you you do proper /timpe oil & filter changes there is really no need to run it because many guys get 100k miles out of stock or stage 1 only modded hd's without lucas oil stabilier.
I'f were the guys that like running lucas oil stabilizer i'd rec they not use an oil additive that can upset/imbalance the oils chem additive pkg when it comes to detergent ,anti corrosion, anti wear additives etc and would simply use spectros high quality heavier grade 25w-60 (vs 20w-50) bike oil specifically designed for hd's vs using oil stabilizer in diff amounts/ratios with 20-50 grade bike oil ending up with who knows what overall grade oil & out of balance chem additive pkg your oil ends at.
Heres a link to ithe 25w-60 oil if interested.

For my HD i addressed the excessive heat issue all air cooled hd's expeirence in summer heat by installing an uc oil cooler with twin cooling fans & wards twin cooling fans both at the same time.
That reduced my hd's oil temp 50deg f in summer heat now keeping valves/lifters/motor very quiet in summer heat along with also increasing hot oil pressure 10-12psi @ idle & @ cruise,no more detonation, faster hot starts post fueling up & less heat hitting me on the bike too. (I use spectro oil designed & mfg'd for lrg disp air cooled HD v-twins in semi-blend & or full syn 20w-50 grade.)
And keep in mind its not only the oils job to lube the motor but it's also the oils job to remove heat from the motor too so when you reduce oil temp 50deg f it also significantly reduces overall engine temp @ the same time too.
