Here in Vermont, we're thankful that a lot of major routes have been restored to the point that they can be used after Tropical Storm Irene washed out a lot of bridges and parts of most roads.
We complained about the rough VT roads but they sure are better than...nothing!
Sounds like the only state that anyone is bragging on in Tennessee. Maybe on my next trip I will trailer up to Arkansas and head over to TN for a few days.
Most major roads in PA have construction going on all year round. It's called job security, they are only repaired to last a certain amount of time so they always have work to do. Same with potholes they are filled only to last until the next year so everyone keeps working.
The roads here in Nor Cal are in real bad shape. La Honda rd./St.Hwy 84 one of the best rides, was just patched. It looks like they went to home depot and got some cold patch and filled the pot holes. Now you have loose gravel in the sweepers. Don't get me started on the freeways. The quality is down.
How'd you know that? I saw their trucks at the Home Depot in San Carlos, must have been picking up that cold patch!
But yeah we are in pretty bad shape. Damn politicians if they would only leave the gas tax money that we pay through the nose for alone, maybe then we could have some decent roads.
I ran into that "cheese grater" type roads between Wichita Falls and San Angelo last week. Thought my tires were gonna be shredded by the time I got back to the regular pot holes of Oklahoma. Texas has some nice roads, but geeze, smooth them babies out.
