Hey 103RKC, I plan on going with FM level B head work and 555 for my 103. If you decide not to use the 555, I would like to put first dibs in on buying it from you. Thanks and good luck with your build.

I was going down a similair path with my FLHTC and decided why am I trying to make a touring bike something it wasn't....
Thats when I bought and built a little hot rod sporty and brought out the little boy in me when I need it...and the conservative old guy on the FL when I want to simply cruise....
It is so cool having two radically different bikes (and cheaper in the long run)...believe me...
wow! I had 109 hp and 112ft lbs of tq on my 96 cube twin cam before the cam bearing went out at 39k miles. I just rebuilt the motor it with a 106 ss crank and it fuc&^ng screams. Plenty of tq and hp. I haven't dynoed it yet but i rolled on a screaming eagle 110 on the highway and poor guy didnt know what hit him.

Info please!! how on earth did you get those numbers out of a 96"?? If I could get that I would even think about a 103 ;-)
thanks guys for all the info i think what i am going to do is call the tuner i have in mind and see if he will put it on the dyno just to see where the bike is realy at and than make a plan . i am leaning to the 107 kit with the woods tw555 cams and a good port job with 1.940 in valve and 1.615 ex valve . i like what i see asto the dyno numbers that fm has on ther site . one Q who is at the top with head porting ??
you guys have been grate with the info thanks
You have two of the elements to a great package, the TTS and the 555 cams. My 103 limmited runs very well with TTS, AC, and 255 cams, but it sounds like you want more.
My recipe would be- Install the 555 cams, pull the heads and have the CCs reduced a bit for proper compression with the right gasket to get the piston to head clearance down under .035/.040, and do a great multi angle valve job and minor porting to wake this thing up. Then to offset the loss of torque in the real low rpms, (1800 to 2400) I would put in a 30 tooth front sprocket and shorter belt. That will also really help in the overall performance of the bike, but your rpms will rise 6 percent in each gear at the same speed. You may also have issues with the 6th gear indicater and speedo, so check for solutions there. Exhaust you might consider a non catted head pipe like Fuelmoto sells.
The 103 is so close to the 107 in size, that you can pretty much figure you will match the "555/107 kit" with the head work really helping up top, to the point of matching or maybe even making a bit more hp than a 107/555/stock head motor. As far as tuning, there may be a file available for the combo I laid out here on the TTS web site that is close enough for starters, but you better check with some people more knowledgeable than me.
I found a file that fit my combo, and it did work out very well.
I wouldn't mess with dyno tuning till you finalize your plans. Waste of time and money.

Our 103 kits are putting out between 110 - 115 HP and 110 - 115 TRQ consistantly. Some have been higher. We use the SE 251 cams (better than the 259e's, hands down). We do all our own headwork in house, D&D Fatcat 2 into 1 exhaust, TTS Matertuner. Here's a dyno sheet from it. We have a 107" Kit that we speced out and had Wiseco custom make them for us, pretty much the same build as the 103 just differn't bore, it makes 115 - 120 HP and 115 - 122 TRQ. Here's a 103 sheet and a 107 sheet for you to compare.
