Default gauge background light

As i have my fairing off, I thought about changing the bulbs to a different color. Has anyone done this? The bulb has a little rubber nipple/finger on it. I guess to give it an off white glow or maybe its to keep the bulb from melting the gauge itself. All input appreciated. its a 2012 fltrx

Peel the rubber off. Makes a difference similar from a soft white bulb to a clear white, thats all.

I was curious if anyone changed the color. Maybe red to match the deck?

The bulbs for the small guages are replaced with LEDs from Superbright LED.

The large guages are sealed and need to be opened. The LED's in them needed soldering and I sent them to BLUEGAUGES.COM in Buffalo. Fantastic Quick Service and he can do any color.
