OK, back to your question.. I have had my EG now since 04 and have had several bars on it.. Actually, I really liked the Wild1 575's - that was until I changed my EG into a RG and put the Wild on 517's on that and road from CA to DC and back - I LOVED the pull back feel - at first I didn't like them but after 6500 mile trip - Great.. Well, after two years, I changed the RG back to a EG and put my 575's back on... well, I didn't care for them as much so I looked around and went with klockwerks - Had the same pull back and feel as the 517's but they were NOT a chubby - got the black coated and ran all my wires thru the bars,,,, did that in 08 and still have them and love them..

good luck on your choice

BTW - when is your KMA date??
I have gorilla arms and I am not looking for any more pullback than stock.

They look good, one of my considerations at the moment. Gonna see if I can find someone locally that has them and get a feel for them.

Great picture too thanks.

Looks great brother, really does, I just get flashbacks of the wiring nightmare with the Carlini Evil Apes I had on my RKC with that bend on the top of the bar.

with your longer arms the 575 are 8" baby apes then the 10" would fit you better (577) and they just look Cool.. enjoy

If I go 12.5" or 10" can I keep factory control box wiring?

I don't care about the clutch/brake lines having to be longer, but I want to keep the cruise control and heated grips.

Wild1 says you can keep all factory IF you go with the 575's - my quess (and I know someone here will jump in) would be no on the taller bars. All this does is make the job a little harder - but since your a FF and Medic - I KNOW you can think out of the box and do this job.. If you pay a Dealer $90 an hour - your going to have to log some heavy duty OT, lol

By the way, I was our Depts OT guy... My last few years, I logged all I could..lol

I did my last bars with a buddy and will do my next set, I don't trust some tech at the stealer to be as meticulous with wiring for "MY" bike as I would be. Would hate to be left stranded because of a bad connection, happened to someone I know. Another person I know was stranded because the dealer did not use the right bushings they put back the factory ones and the Ape's on the bike didn't hold up with the factory bushings. Imagine you're riding and your bars just fall down on you.......

I'll pass on the dealer as much as I can.
