Just bought a wrecked flrhci to fix and ride.

I have to replace the front forks the bent below the trees . What is the best kind price and place to get them going to pick the bike up Tuesday hopefully and just trying to get a list together of parts I know I need and where to get them. It also has the limited edition painted tins on it I think I just need the front fender is it possible to order that from Harley it is a 2000 model dark green with silver flames . thanks for any help

The forks are pretty cheap right from Harley. I used an aftermarket set once and they were about 1/2" shorter than the originals. If your forks are bent your triple tree will be bent also. Usually the axle and the rotors bend with the forks.

Its hard to say if the triple tree is bent with out measuring things. It all depends on how hard a lick the front end took. Fork tubes will fold up easily before the tree does...there is more leverage out there on the tubes than per se the tree. I too have a rebuilt Road King total. My front end was ok...just mostly sheetmetal damage. Its really amazing how little it takes for State Farm to total out a bike! I could have driven mine home and it was totalled! So...a deal can be made by buying one if you can do the work yourself...which I can. I fixed it all...painted it all. Made out like a bandit on it. Just check ebay and swap meets and DON'T get into any big hurry and you'll do great!

i will keep you posted trying to figure out how to post the pix now . I rebuild wrecked cars on the side and also do my own painting just not looking forward to the flames . it is amazing on how easy the insurance companies total the last 3 cars I fixed only needed hoods no frame damage or popped bags not even fenders . thats why insurance is so expensive .
