Been waiting for this question.....Im 55, bought my first Harley in 1977, a chopped cop flathead, next was a 77 superglide and then an 05 RoadKing. I now have an 09 Ultra that just took me from NC to Utah and back without a hitch. 5000 miles, and I wouldnt ride anything else except maybe, MAYBE a "wing" Buy what you like and dont worry about others opinions. After she sees you riding the "glide", she will want to go with you..........
Just get on it and ride customize it until you got it where you want it. I soon after I got my removed some of the Geeezer conotations. I would not ride anything else or go back to the cool CVO bikes I have had in the past. This is IT why they sell any other models for me makes no sense to me personally. I have converted many and they smile and grin everytime we roll and tell me its the best coice they have made! But agin to each his own some just want to ride a..... what ever floats their boat. But in my opinion your done already the pontification has started and won't be satisfied until have it in the gagrage! Let us see when you get it which won't be long now!
Got a couple of streaks in my beard, I guess. I'm 43, juts bought my first 2010 FLHTK, still have my 2005 fatboy. Gimme the bagger any day, much better ride than my softail.
Always said that I would never own one, but that all changed after I rode one. Now I would not have anything but a touring bike. I am 56 and would be a greybeard if I didn't shave.
