Default S.E. Heads

2002 RK. S.E. air filter. True duals with Rinehearts slip ons. Fuelmotto programmer. Question is a buddy of mine gave me a set of good S.E. Heads. I been looking for more power. Are these worth installing over stock? If so what about cams? Anyone had this kind of experience?

Default sceamin' eagle heads

there were many screamin eagle heads. it depends on which heads they are. you can perhaps find the part number listed in one of the screamin eagle performance catalogs or the guys in the service or parts dept might look them up for you. sometimes you must match pistons for the heads like in the case of the htcc screamin eagle heads where the quench area is different than what would apply with a flattop piston.

The heads will have a casting number on them; start with that. Are they drilled for compression releases? What is the shape of the combustion chamber? Bathtub? Is the exhaust port round or "D" shaped?

as stated, there are different SE heads. Some have domed chambers. If you use a dome chambered head with a flat top piston , in most cases, you will get less compression than using your stock heads. Also, some combinations of SE heads and forged pistons do not work because of the large sized valves in the SE heads and the valve clearance required into the valve grooves of the piston.
