I found a pitbull gently used for 200 on craigslist and love the hell out of it !!!!
Consider if you value the 20 grand or invested in your ride and how a matter of several hundred dollars can change that if it fails !
I have the yellow Harbor Freight and it is well made and sturdy. I am very satisfied with it and don't need a strap, the bike is very stable when lifted. Makes cleaning my wires and whitewalls a breeze.
I have the hf lift. Was able to turn the lift arms around to get a wider lift platform.
But then I was able to pick up a pitbull lift from a member of the forum here. No comparison. I can pick up my ultra or my gl1800 and roll them around the garage with one finger and no straps. Plus it will pick them up 25". Don't try that with a hf lift. I never felt comfortable with the cheap lift. I will use that for my atv's.
I found a Larin on Craigslist and it has proven itself to be very sturdy.
You have to be careful w/ Craigslist. It is not uncommon to find a new, similar product for less than a used one on Craigslist, at a store or the internet.
But, a bargain can be found if you look regularly.
I have an HF. I only paid $60 for it. Like all jacks, it has points to hook a ratchet strap to secure it to the jack. For what I need it for,it's fine.
Agreed. I use it everytime I work on or clean the bike. It's never made me think it was going to collapse or anything. And the price is right.
I have the red craftsmen lift and have no issues with it. I suppose you would be good with any of the name brand models, just depends on what you are looking to pay. I couldn't live with out one, mine gets used all the time. Makes cleaning those rear wheels much easier!
I got this one from HF with 20% coupon $145.00. Can't move bike aroung garage on it that is real nice about the Pits and a few others but it lifts to 30". It's been great and I spent difference the money the Pit costs on more bike ****. I don't use it enough to be worth the higher cost and the ramp style is a permanent fixture I don't have room for.
