Default what is it

Hello, i own a 1987 FLTC with the stock Bendix carb. while trying to line it up, I found a wire floating that is connected to a device attached to the motor mount, with a vacuum line to the carb. Could someone tell me what this little black device is?

Is it a Cali bike? It may be the charcoal cannister for the emission system.

it is the VOES, what intake manifold drops ( such as wide open throttle) ignition advance is retarded.

stock carb on that would be the Keihin butterfly---

upgrading to the Keihn CV such as used from 1990 would be a good move, especially if you change elevation alot

need a $10 manifold adapter, throttle cables and carb- altogether under $100
