Bought an 07 Ultra Classic in January with 14,500 miles on it. Now has over 26,000 miles on it. Tires, gas and oil is all its needed. Gonna change the oil again this weekend and put on a set of rear brake pads. It has been sooooooo sweeeeeet!
I bought an 08 street bob this summer. It had 13000kms when I bought it. I just turned 21000 kms. Not a single issue, other than not many riding days left.
I have a 09 Road Glide with 44,765 miles on it. The only problems I had so far was that I need a new starter and 2 front rotors. Thats was about 500 miles ago. I do all the regular maintence myself. The starter and rotors were covered under the extended warrenty. I might be opening a can of worms here. I will going on a ride this weekend from upstate NY to Va and hope to put on some miles. That is why I have gerbing to ride along with me.
Thanks all for the info. I traded in my 07 Road Star Midnight Silverado for a 2001 Ultra Classic that had 26K on the clock. It looks prestine. It was very well maintained and runs very smooth. Just some minor cosmedic blemishes you can hardy see............I love this bike. I had a 2008 Dyna Low Rider I bought new but found out it rode like a Sporter on steroids. Not vey comfortable for distance riding. Thanks again for the imput..
My 01 that i bought in November 07 with 4900 miles on it, just turned 41000. To date, had exhaust lifter collapse at 13000 so redid cam chest with gear drives and new Fueling oil pump and last week, the magnets started to come apart on the rotor, so rebuilt primary with 3 phase charging system, new primary chain, and all new seals and bearings. I figure, if you have it apart to fix a bad part, go ahead and replace everything that looks worn or risk another teardown. By doing the primary, it got rid of a rattle that i swore was a lifter rattle. It's now as quiet as stock.
2010 FLHTK, bought new a little less than 23 months ago, I'll turn 45,000 tomorrow or Saturday. I've gone through 3 brake rotors (2 of them floaters), a rear pulley and IDS setup, both wheels (flaking chrome), a front 407, a stereo, a stator, umbrella valves and breathers, two compensators (one S/E), a clutch, a set of rocker arms, and a handfull of bulbs. I've got another bad rotor and the top end sounds like its coming apart again, so I'll take another trip to the dealer before the 2-year warranty expires and the ESP kicks in.
07 with 52K on the clock. She's had her share of problems, but i took care of most myself. Also some mandatory upgrades (SE Comp, IDS, E3's, new version fairing brackets, odds and ends).
I ride her hard, but take care of her. She still looks new!
Compared to your Dyna - the Ultra is gonna be a dream on the open road.
